These
are the steps that I followed to produce the motor mount for the DC electric
motor. The main goal in this part of the project is to produce a strong,
lightweight, moderately complex shaped part with little time and machining
effort. The first step in this process is to produce scale AutoCAD drawing
of the part to be manufactured.
This
drawing is necessary to assure the part will function as planned. The drawing
is then printed to scale and a pattern is cut from the drawing paper.
This
pattern is then affixed to the foam with spray adhesive. The pattern is
then traced out in the foam using a hot wire knife.
